AD Little's main client base comprises traditional automakers, petrochemical companies and fossil fuel corporations. Their assessments will naturally be biased. Their research first proposes a desired answer (usually supplied by one of their clients) - then they look for "facts" to back up what the client prefers to hear. Then the client (now happy), pays their fees.
Not unique in the "research" industry, however. Bias is common - look at how it was applied in the era of tobacco. Same story now with fossil energy production & consumption. My view is that AD Little's assessments can safely be ignored.
