This is a complaint about the touch-screen in the Tesla Model 3. Here is a YouTube video showing the operation of the screen: Even the windscreen wipers are controlled from the touch screen. If using a hand-held phone and texting whilst driving is dangerous (and illegal in many jurisdictions) then how can this possibly be safe? A screenshot of the driver using touch-screen to switch on wipers is attached to this complaint. Distracted driving is being blamed for an increase in crashes. This massively distracting screen is a giant step in the wrong direction. Tesla enthusiasts are defending this feature by claiming that they can operate the screen and watch the road at the same time. That is impossible. Taking the example of the windscreen wiper it has a tiny display icon that requires the driver to focus on the screen whilst hitting the icon. There is also a plethora of infotainment options to choose from. Please ban this vehicle from the roads before it kills innocent people and misguided Tesla zealots. Thank you. Concerned citizen.
