How come collision avoidance/automatic braking didn’t prevent this accident?
Logs should be read and made available by a trustworthy non-bias source to find out if “autopilot” and or “automatic braking” was on the vehicle and if it was activated. If so, why didn’t it/they prevent the accident? If so, did the systems activate and reduce the severity of the accident?
There needs to be thorough and proper investigation into these matters; before these technologies become more commonplace. It would be nice to nip any problems in the bud, before they put more of a large segment of population at risk.
If the Tesla had been equipped with more sensors, it might have prevented this accident. Regretfully Tesla chose to skimp on safety. Tesla has proven that safety is a low priority to them.
