At some point in time, stories of Teslas crashing and burning will no longer make national headlines. Maybe we’re at that point already. I’m surprised this didn’t receive more press. Although we don’t have details of the events leading up to the crash, it seems likely that it was yet another unintended acceleration. This was on a city street in downtown Indy. Hardly a place for a ludicrous driving demonstration.

I’m wondering if there might be an additional factor involved.
Suppose that when the suspension fails it causes the wheel to jam up in the wheel well and it locks solid.
The differential would then cause the opposite wheel to rotate at double speed.
(motor has plenty of power in reserve to allow this to happen)
The result would be a huge acceleration and a swerve to the side.
